A building that has been an iconic Riverside landmark for close to half a century has been purchased by The Magellan Group. The former Lily-Tulip Cup manufacturing plant, with its large “cup” for monument signage, was acquired by The Magellan Group following their purchase of the underlying mortgages.
Plans to modernize the 300,000 square foot facility for a new user include interior and exterior improvements and new landscaping. The building is equipped with abundant power and, with the low electricity costs in the City of Riverside, is well suited for a variety of heavy power manufacturing users. Magellan also purchased an adjacent 100,000 square foot building in the Hunter Business Park that is fully-leased to Ancon Marine, and a 1.75 acre parcel that fronts Iowa Avenue.
Idea Hall handled media relations for Magellan Group’s acquisition, distributing a press release to some 250 online news aggregators. Magellan landed media coverage in several real estate verticals and regional media outlets as a result, and continues to seek older industrial properties throughout Southern California and select Western markets where it can add value through property upgrades, leasing, management and disposition.
